About The Blue Lords
Based out of Norfolk, Virginia this hard driving band makes no bones about where their roots lie. The Blue Lords are a powerful, true blue classic, southern rock and blues band. With a blistering guitar attack, coupled with a thunderous rhythm section, the Blue Lords have shared stages with some of the biggest names in rock; ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, The Doobie Brothers, Charlie Daniels, Peter Frampton, The Outlaws, Blackfoot, Pat Travers, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, Johnny Winter, Molly Hatchet, Steppenwolf, & Jefferson Starship, among others. In 2006, the Blue Lords single “Walk The Walk” was featured in the independent feature-length film, “Sweet Good Fortune.”
“There is something about the South, southern bands, southern music in general that resonates in your soul, says lead vocalist and drummer Steve Archer, and there is a brotherhood among all of the bands that we all share and are extremely proud to be a part of”.
Guitarist/vocalist Tony Bullard: “We all were raised on country music, classic, southern rock and blues. The Allmans, Skynyrd, Charlie Daniels, Marshall Tucker, that whole movement was an exciting time in music. We still love what we do, and it’s truly an honor to be able to perform for people and carry on that tradition. It’s all about the fans and the music, giving it your all at every show and being thankful for your blessings. We do … and we are.”
A long time Skynyrd friend and fan, Bullard was asked to escort the late Ronnie Van Zants daughter Tammy Van Zant to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted by Kid Rock along with Black Sabbath, Miles Davis, Blondie, and the Sex Pistols, with Herb Albert and Jerry Moss receiving a Life Time Achievement Award in 2006. “An amazing night,” says Bullard. “Truly an honor we will never forget”.
