About Sal Cirrincione

Sal is RLC’s official Nice Guy Artist Interrogator and our Voice of the Voyage Dude, so listen up when he speaks! Don’t worry, none of us can pronounce his last name either.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Sal Cirrincione got his start in broadcasting in 1983 at the legendary WNEW-FM/AM in New York City, where he worked in news production, promotion, and as a producer of remote broadcasts. In 1987, he headed to Connecticut to become the promotion director at WRKI in Danbury, followed a year later by WHCN in Hartford.

In 1990, Sal returned to New York City, first taking a position at radio syndicate Neer Perfect Productions, where he wrote and produced numerous national specials on the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Ringo Starr, Robbie Robertson and many others. Three years later, MJI Broadcasting, another national radio syndication company, hired him to create a daily music news and audio service for rock radio. Thirty-two years later, Today’s Rock Facts and its spinoff, The Classic Daily, are still the leading sources of music news and artist interviews for over 100 of the top rock and classic rock stations across America. MJI was purchased in 1999 by Premiere Radio Networks, and Sal made the transition, where he continues in his role as Senior Director of Rock Programming and Specials.

In addition to writing The Classic Daily, he’s also responsible for artist interviews, which have included numerous sessions with members of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Who, CSNY and U2, as well as with Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John and hundreds of others. He also covers top music events around the world such as the Grammy Awards and upwards of 30 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies; has produced numerous award-winning specials, including iHEARTRADIO’s Icons series with the likes of Keith Richards, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, Bob Seger, U2, Bruce Springsteen, John Fogerty, John Mellencamp and many others; and has been conducting interviews for the passengers aboard the Rock Legends Cruise since 2013. Among those who have joined Sal on stage are Roger Daltrey, Sammy Hagar, Billy Gibbons, Robby Krieger, Don Felder, Styx, REO Speedwagon, George Thorogood, Randy Bachman, Nancy Wilson, The Doobie Brothers, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Paul Rodgers, Peter Frampton and many, many more. This year marks his 13th RLC.

A graduate of Nashville’s Leadership Music Program and a 10-time participant and Hall of Fame member of the New York Yankees Fantasy Camp, Sal resides in New Jersey.
